Jill McLeod’s first taste of radio was as a school student through her acquaintance with John Laws who lived “just down the road” in Lindfield, Sydney. She dipped her toe in the media water when she joined the staff of Vogue Australia in 1961 and has continued her interest in journalism as a freelance writer through to the present day.

Jill loves her work at 2BRW 94.5 FM and couldn’t believe her luck when in January 2003 she had the opportunity to become a presenter on the local fledgling Braidwood community radio station. With a broad taste in music from the early 1900s through to contemporary “middle of the road”, Jill plays tracks from opera, cross-over classic/popular, musicals, film themes, jazz and evergreens and admits to a tendency to showcase divas and divos from Ella Fitzgerald through to David Hobson.  She also loves to promote local Braidwood cultural activities and enjoys the opportunities that come her way to interview anyone from the popular Sara Storer to State and Federal politicians.

Jill’s two-hour program Flying Solo can be heard on Thursday evenings from 6 to 8pm and she joins Dennis Dempsey on Saturday mornings to present the Saturday Breakfast hour from 7.30 to 8.30 am followed by Braidwood Country Garden from 8.30 to 9.30 am.
