Paul Brodie was with Braidwood FM from before we began broadcasting. Paul was the one who set up our external transmission network, working in conjunction with Scott Watkins-Sully who set up our broadcast studio. Over the ensuing years Paul took over the studio technical role as well, whilst Scott was working in broadcasting up in Sydney.

Paul presented his program “Brodie” every Friday night from 9pm to 11pm for around 5 years, until April 2008 when he headed off to England for a ‘couple of years’. His program content was varied, and included all forms of music (with the exception of country). Paul still says he is returning, but his ‘couple of years’ is now three and a half, so we can only hope he will return in the near future.

In 2008 Paul was awarded Citizen of the Year in the Australia Day awards given out by Palerang Council, in recognition of his services to Braidwood FM, the SES, and the Rural Fire Service. Paul has volunteered his time to these organisations for years repairing and maintaining communication equipment.

He still maintains contact with Braidwood FM by email and phone, and still provides advice about technical matters when we call on him for help.
