The Community Broadcasting Foundation paid us a Visit

Written by on March 6, 2020

From the Community Broadcasting Foundation.

Our friends at 88.9FM – Braidwood were amongst the first community stations at the front-line of emergency broadcast updates over the recent summer bushfires. They sustained a mighty service providing crucial updates to their local communities in and around the Budawang National Park and Mongo National Park in the Southern Tablelands of NSW – for two months! It was a huge job from a small team of volunteer broadcasters who, even when the station lost power, were able to stay on air, thanks to a battery-back up purchased with a Community Broadcasting Foundation grant.

Our current grant round closes this Tuesday, March 10th. It’s not too late to submit! https://cbf.org.au/first-grant-round-2020-now-open/.

Congrats to all at Braidwood FM for your incredible efforts over summer. Here’s Station Manager, Gordon Waters, a key part of the broadcast team, on the gear that helped them with their bushfire broadcasting.
