Braidwood FM switches on Solar

Last year Braidwood FM was invited to apply for a Powering Communities Program grant by Member for Eden Monaro, Kristy McBain.
The program aimed to assist community organisations improve their energy efficiency practices and lower their energy bills.
As a result of a successful grant application, Braidwood FM received $8000 to install Solar panels onto our studio.
This has now been completed thanks to Local Pat Clarke Electrical and Station Manager Gordon Waters.
We had a 5KW system installed and this will help reduce our Monthly reliance on grid power. Electricity makes up a large part of our running costs and with the increasing prices for electricity, this will certainly be a welcomed saving.
