WRITING FESTIVAL ROARS

Written by on August 17, 2020

Braidwood Lions Club members are delighted to announce that this Festival will run again in 2020.

The aim of the Festival, which first ran in 2018, is to give school children in the 2622 postcode area the opportunity to develop their writing skills and interact with established local authors.

The very successful 2018 event, which saw over 270 entries submitted, was enthusiastically supported by local schools and warmly embraced by the local community – over 50 business houses provided sponsorship support. A book containing over 30 of the best entries was published and widely distributed.

Braidwood’s own Jackie French has again agreed to be Patron and several local authors have agreed to judge in the six categories.

Any profit from the Festival will be returned by Braidwood Lions to needy causes in the Braidwood community.

The Terms and Conditions this year will remain essentially the same as before. Entries will close on 26 June 2020 and the award ceremony will be held in the National Theatre, Braidwood on 20 November 2020.
